Medical Detoxification
The goal of detoxification is to withdraw a person safely from alcohol and other drugs. Glenbeigh's medical staff manages this process in a safe environment using the most effective medical procedures. Staff physicians examine patients daily and 24-hour nursing care is provided. The medical needs of each patient determine the length of time necessary for detoxification. Patients participate in the assessment process and other therapeutic activities during detoxification. When medically stable, the patients continue their treatment in an inpatient or outpatient level of care based on individual needs.

Inpatient Treatment
Glenbeigh's inpatient addiction treatment program immerses the patients in a healthy, recovery-oriented environment. The treatment program is individually tailored to meet the needs of each patient. With the primary focus on alcohol and drug addiction and how it has affected the life of each patient, the program is structured and intense.

Group therapy and individual counseling form the core of the program. This provides each patient with the opportunity to commit to abstinence and begin making the changes necessary to support that commitment. An individual treatment plan developed by staff in consultation with the patient and family guides the patient's course of treatment. This plan identifies the patient's particular problems and needs and how the patient will work toward a positive outcome in treatment.

Other activities support the group and individual therapy. Each day the patients participate in educational presentations as well as 12 Step recovery meetings. They participate in a fitness program designed to improve their health status and increase their activity level safely. Glenbeigh's weekly family program helps patients and families begin to heal and resolve the problems created by addiction.
