Glenbeigh offers extended residential care for people who have completed an inpatient treatment plan, but need more time to adjust and focus on the issues surrounding recovery. Extended care is particularly beneficial to individuals who need a longer treatment program in order to establish a solid foundation in sobriety—and to individuals with a history of relapse and/or face enduring issues with their professional standing, employment or home life.
The extended care program at Glenbeigh focuses on all dimensions of the recovery process and helps clients gain an understanding of the 12 Steps and how to put them into practice. Building off of the recovery process that began in primary inpatient treatment, patients practice applying the 12 Step principles to daily living while developing the social skills and attitudes needed to prevent relapse.
Our extended care program embraces the principles of holistic recovery and prepares clients to re-enter normal, everyday living in an environment that facilitates recovery. During their extended stay, patients are offered gender-specific programs, including individual, group and family counseling. We also present them with recreational, educational and volunteer opportunities. The goal is to develop meaningful interpersonal relationships and to fulfill responsibilities that accompany living with others in a stable, healthy recovering household.
