Gratitude is seen as an integral part of recovery from addiction. It has been shown to benefit health, mood, outlook and general sense of wellbeing – all positive factors in recovery. This workshop will explore the phenomenon of gratitude throughout history, research on its usefulness, and how to incorporate its practice in addiction treatment.
Describe how the phenomenon of gratitude has been manifested and practiced throughout history in various social and religious contexts
Describe how research on gratitude has shown its efficacy in human relations and self-improvement
List techniques for incorporating gratitude practice in addiction treatment to enhance outcomes for clients in recovery
