Yes. Glenbeigh treats adults seeking help for alcohol and a range of other substances. Many treatment activities bring patients together because the principles and skills that support recovery apply across different substance-use experiences. During withdrawal management and throughout treatment, care is individualized according to each patient’s medical, clinical and safety needs.

Men and women may participate together in some treatment activities. Separate living areas and gender-responsive programming are provided to support privacy, safety and each patient’s individual treatment needs.

Personal electronic devices are not permitted for general use during treatment. When approved, limited device access may be arranged for business professionals and others with essential work responsibilities. Access is scheduled and supervised by a staff member so patients can complete necessary work while remaining focused on treatment.

Smoking is permitted only in designated outdoor areas. Vaping is prohibited on Glenbeigh property.

 Glenbeigh works with many commercial insurance plans and certain Medicaid and Medicare providers. Coverage varies by plan and level of care. Call 800-234-1001 to have your benefits reviewed. Self-pay options are also available.

A person seeking alcohol or drug treatment may contact Glenbeigh directly. An interventionist or outside liaison is not required to begin the process. Family members, EAP representatives, health care providers and other professionals may also contact Glenbeigh to discuss a referral.

The process begins with a phone call to 800-234-1001, submission of Glenbeigh’s online contact form or an email to GBInquire@glenbeigh.com. A Glenbeigh team member gathers basic information about the person seeking care. A more comprehensive assessment may then be scheduled to help determine the appropriate level of care. If Glenbeigh is an appropriate treatment option and the person chooses to proceed, the team will help coordinate admission.

Length of stay is based on each person’s individual needs and may change as treatment progresses. Patients meet regularly with their counselor, and the treatment team reviews each patient’s progress, clinical needs and readiness to transition to another level of care.

No. Glenbeigh is not a locked unit. Adults enter treatment voluntarily and sign themselves into care. Glenbeigh is a specialty hospital providing alcohol and drug treatment, not an inpatient psychiatric hospital.

A typical day begins with breakfast at 7:15 AM, and scheduled activities generally conclude around 9:30 PM. Throughout the day, patients participate in group and individual counseling, recovery education, specialized groups and recreational or wellness activities. Schedules may vary by day and individual treatment needs.

Treatment costs vary based on the level of care and length of stay. Contact Glenbeigh’s admissions or business office at 800-234-1001 for current self-pay rates, insurance information and available financial arrangements.

Glenbeigh’s dress code supports a safe and respectful treatment environment. Clothing should be comfortable, appropriate for scheduled activities and provide adequate coverage. Tight-fitting, low-cut, backless or midriff-baring clothing is not permitted, and shorts must extend to mid-thigh. Clothing displaying references to alcohol or drugs is prohibited. Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times. Hats, hoods and sunglasses may not be worn inside the building.

• Mouthwash containing alcohol
• Hand sanitizer containing alcohol

• Hairspray containing alcohol and nonalcohol aerosol hairspray
• All aerosol cans
• Perfume, cologne and aftershave
• Essential oils
• Weapons, including guns, knives and switchblades
• Hair clippers
• Radios, clock radios, CD players, tape recorders, iPods, CDs and DVDs
• Laptop computers and tablets
• Video games and playing cards
• Cell phones
• Pornographic material
• Cameras, camcorders and video cameras
• Valuable items that could be misplaced or lost, including jewelry, credit cards and large amounts of money
• Pre-rolled cigarettes, cigarette tobacco, rolling papers and cigarette-rolling machines
• Musical instruments
• Electronic reading devices with internet access, including Kindles and Nooks
• Earbuds and headphones
• Activity trackers, including Fitbits and fitness watches such as Apple Watches

• All powdered products, including laundry detergent, baby powder and powdered nutritional supplements
• Bathing suits, short shorts, short dresses, crop tops, see-through shirts, sleeveless T-shirts with excessively dropped armholes and clothing displaying profanity, nudity or references to alcohol or drugs

Yes. Medications may be prescribed during medically supervised withdrawal management, also known as detoxification, to help manage withdrawal symptoms. When clinically appropriate, medications may also be used to support treatment for alcohol or opioid use disorders.

Patients who are currently taking a low-dose maintenance medication for opioid use disorder under the care of a licensed physician may also be considered for admission. Admission and medication needs are reviewed individually by Glenbeigh’s medical team.

Medication decisions are based on each patient’s medical history, substance use, symptoms and individual treatment needs. Medications are provided as part of a comprehensive treatment plan that includes counseling, education and recovery support.

Glenbeigh provides linens, towels, three balanced meals and snacks each day. Patients should bring enough clothing for about seven days, including clothing appropriate for outdoor and fitness or recreational activities. Laundry facilities are available at no cost. Patients should bring liquid laundry detergent or pods because powdered detergent is prohibited.

Helpful items to bring

• Casual daytime clothing, gym clothes, pajamas and a bathrobe
• Toiletries, such as shampoo, toothpaste, a toothbrush and body wash
• A small alarm clock without a radio
• Comfortable shoes and shower shoes
• Insurance card, photo ID and prescription card
• Prescribed medications in their original labeled bottles
• A phone card, if needed
• A small amount of money for personal items
• Liquid laundry detergent or pods and dryer sheets
   
  Additional phone cards may be purchased at the facility. The Gratitude Shoppe, operated by the Glenbeigh Alumni Association, sells personal items, recovery literature, cards and miscellaneous gifts.

Visitation and family programming schedules may vary. Please check with your loved one’s counselor for current information about visitation and virtual or in-person family education. Registration is required for Sunday morning family programming at the Rock Creek facility.

Family pets, emotional support animals and therapy animals are not permitted at Glenbeigh and should not be brought for visitation or family programming.

Glenbeigh provides a full continuum of care for adults with alcohol and drug use disorders. Services available through Glenbeigh include:

Not every patient requires every level of care. Treatment recommendations are based on each person’s medical and clinical needs. As treatment progresses, Glenbeigh works with the patient to determine the appropriate next level of care and coordinate a smooth transition.

Yes. Glenbeigh provides medically supervised withdrawal management, commonly called detoxification, for adults who need help withdrawing from alcohol, opioids or other substances. Detoxification is provided at Glenbeigh’s specialty hospital in Rock Creek, Ohio, where patients receive 24-hour nursing support and care from addiction medicine physicians and other clinical professionals.

The medical team evaluates each patient’s substance use, withdrawal risks, medical history and current symptoms to develop an individualized treatment plan. Medications may be used when clinically appropriate. Once medically stable, patients may transition directly into inpatient rehabilitation or another appropriate level of care.

Glenbeigh provides treatment for adults 18 and older with alcohol or drug use disorders, including those involving opioids, stimulants, prescription medications or multiple substances.

Before admission, Glenbeigh reviews each person’s substance use, medical history and clinical needs. This information helps determine the appropriate level of care and whether Glenbeigh can safely meet the person’s treatment needs.

Yes. Glenbeigh treats substance use disorders while also addressing co-occurring mental health concerns, such as depression, anxiety and trauma-related symptoms, when they can be safely managed within addiction treatment.

Care may include psychiatric assessment, medication management, individual and group counseling and trauma-informed treatment approaches. Glenbeigh is a specialty hospital for alcohol and drug treatment, not an inpatient psychiatric hospital. During the admissions process, each person’s mental health and medical needs are reviewed to determine whether Glenbeigh is an appropriate treatment setting.

Glenbeigh uses evidence-based and recovery-oriented treatment approaches tailored to each patient’s clinical needs. Treatment may include:

• Cognitive behavioral therapy
• Dialectical behavior therapy
• Motivational interviewing
• Trauma-informed care
• Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, when clinically appropriate
• Individual and group counseling
• Recovery education and specialized groups
• Recreational and wellness activities

The specific combination of services depends on the patient’s treatment plan and level of care.

Before discharge, Glenbeigh’s treatment team works with each patient to develop an individualized continuing care plan. Depending on the patient’s progress, clinical needs and living situation, the next step may include partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient treatment, continuing care, recovery housing or services from another appropriate provider.

Patients who continue treatment within the Glenbeigh system can transition between levels of care without starting over with a different treatment organization. If a patient chooses another provider, Glenbeigh can coordinate with that provider to help support a smooth transition.

Yes. Glenbeigh provides recovery housing for eligible adults who would benefit from a supportive, alcohol- and drug-free living environment while continuing their recovery. Glenbeigh’s Ohio recovery residences are certified by Ohio Recovery Housing, which establishes quality standards for recovery housing in the state.
